This past weekend I refinished a 1911 with the Brownell’s product “Aluma-Hyde“. It has a nice matte finish and seems to be pretty tough.

I think it turned out pretty well. The trick it to let it cure for several days in a warm place, probably 80F or so. or it’ll be soft and scratch off really easily. I actually did the slide twice for this reason :-/
