I got an email from brother number 2 asking for more details about the new car purchase, so I’m writing it here so that I don’t have to do it more than once

So yeah… It’s a 2007 GT Mustang. It’s brand spankin’ new, and had a total of 7 miles when I drove it off the lot. It’s the 4.6L V8 model putting out 300HP with a 5 speed manual. It’s black with black leather interior. The only option it doesn’t have is the stereo upgrade (to the shaker 1000).

I haven’t done anything to it as far as tweaks go. I’ll probably put different mufflers on it, and maybe tune the ECU a little bit, but nothing drastic. When the warranty is out, I’ll probably see about putting in a 2004 Cobra engine with a lowered compression ratio and upgraded fuel system to support a turbo setup. That should put it at ~600HP at the wheels at moderate boost levels.

As for the fate of the Talon – it’s still with me and running fine. It needs some attention, but I’m taking a short break from it for right now as I’m just burnt out on it. That was the main reason for buying the mustang.

I think that answers all the questions I’ve gotten about it.

So I bought my first brand new car tonight.

Despite all the reasons that people will tell me it was a stupid idea (and I may agree in a year), I love the car.
