The world is indeed in trouble …

I invite you, dear readers, to pop on over to Amazon.com’s Top 25 list. This is the list of the 25 most popular books, ranked by number of units sold.

Open-Hole (Oprah) holds top rank with her book club which isn’t terribly surprising given the number of housewives with questionable mental health she’s indoctrinated over the years. The rest of the list is .. well, mediocre at best.

So what’s the point? I don’t know. I guess I’m just disgusted by what passes for best selling literature these days. Nothnig spiritual in the top 25 at all. I guess there’s no time after keeping up with the Open-Hole titles and trying every new diet under the sun.

Nothing new under the sun

Well, I guess it’s about time for an update … Let’s see.

Britt left a little over 2 weeks ago, but it feels like a lot longer. She’s doing well in Florida, though. She’s started a job already and seems to (mostly) like it. She’ll be back in 17 days. We’re both looking forward to that.

The new Tool CD titled “10,000 Days” was released May 2nd. I can’t say enough about it. Lots of “die in the wool” Tool fans are saying that they’ve lost their edge and that they’re washed up and the like … to them I say “What CD are you listening to? This CD is exactly what I was waiting for!”. Of course, the depth of both the music and the lyrics to most of Tool’s work (both old and new) is lost to the majority of their audience anyway …

Speaking of Tool – I saw my first Tool show on May the 8th. It was absolutely amazing. I left in a strange state of euphoria (I know it sounds stupid, but I felt drugged, even though I wasn’t). They didn’t allow cameras, but there are some pics from the show floating around the net anyway ;) It was at a tiny little venue (~2300 seats), which made it really unique considering the fact that this is a band that can sell out 50,000. It’s amazing that music as complex as theirs can be reproduced so well live, but they did a spectacular job.

What else … I got the car through an emissions test and it passed with flying colors. w00t! Now I just have to get off my butt and go to the place and get the plates for it.

It’s also going to be equipped with a brand new shiney front mount intercooler this weekend. That should be good for another 50 HP or so. After that all I have left is the 3″ turbo back and I’m done. Once I get it tuned out, that should have it in the neighborhood of 400WHP. There’s nothing like ripping apart V8 sports cars in an ‘economy’ import. The Honda kiddies and Subaru crowd aren’t even a challenge anymore :-D

I guess that’s about it.

… End of Line …
